Review: 'Ohana Best Friends Breakfast

Image
This is it: the final post in my series of reviews of the most recent character meals I've done at Disney World! If you'd like to read the other installments, you can find Part 1 here  and Part 2 here . In my opinion I saved the best for last, because the Best Friends Breakfast at 'Ohana at the Polynesian Village Resort is easily my favorite character meal! However, opinions are subjective so I'm going to use the same method to review the Best Friends Breakfast at 'Ohana that I used for the other character meals. I'll be rating the atmosphere, characters, food quality, service, and overall value on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best. Hopefully, by the time we're done, you'll understand why this is my favorite character meal! The Polynesian Village Resort is a beautiful deluxe resort right on the Magic Kingdom monorail line! Seriously, I want to live at this resort. Atmosphere The atmosphere of the Polynesian Village Resort is w

Review: Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast

Last week's blog post  was the first in a series of reviews of the most recent character meals I've done at Disney World. As I've said before, I love character meals and feel that they are definitely worth the splurge . And I hope that   my reviews will help you determine if character dining is something your family would enjoy. Ariel was the star (in my eyes at least) of the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast: this weeks character meal review! As I mentioned last week in my review of Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner, I am a Disney princess enthusiast. I love Cinderella, but Ariel is my favorite princess, so I was very excited to get a reservation for the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast at Disney's Boardwalk! Like Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner, the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast is held outside the theme parks, so it can be enjoyed on a day that you aren't planning on going to the parks. I'm super excited to share with you all the great th

Review: Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner

If you read my  previous blog post ,  then you know that character dining is something that even this frugal girl is willing to splurge on at Disney World! I say "splurge" because admittedly character dining is an investment. That's why I think it's helpful to know as much as you can about the various character meals that are offered so that you can choose the ones that will be the best fit for your family. So, in order to help with that, I'm going to be sharing my honest reviews of the most recent character meals that I've done at Disney World. If this topic is something that you're interested in, check back over the next couple weeks for updates! The first character meal I'll be reviewing in this series is one that, as a Disney princess enthusiast, I was very excited about! I loved Cinderella when I was a little girl, so attending Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare was definitely a Disney dream come true for me. 1900

Things I'm Willing to Splurge On at Disney World

My last blog post was all about   how to save money at Disney World , so today I'm going to share with you a few things that I'm willing to actually spend money on at Disney World. Here's my list of top things that are worth the splurge! 1. Staying On-Property There are perks that come with staying at a Disney resort hotel that always make it worth it for me. First is an earlier fastpass+ booking window. Guests staying at Disney resorts get an extra 30 days to make their fastpass+ selections. For popular rides such as Flight of Passage, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Frozen Ever After, your chances of getting a fastpass+ if you're not staying at a Disney resort are slim and nil. Another perk is earlier access to dining reservations. Guests not staying at a Disney resort can only make their dining reservations 180 days out from each day of their Disney vacation. Guests staying at a Disney resort can start making their advanced dining reservations 180 days out from th

Disney World on a Budget

Anyone who knows us knows that my husband and I are two of the most frugal people on the planet. A lot of people assume that the words "frugal" and "Disney" can never go together, but that's not necessarily the case. Walt Disney World is one of our favorite places to travel as a family, so we've come up with a system for making those priceless Disney memories on a budget. Tip #1: Be on the lookout for discounts and promotions. Disney does go "on sale" pretty regularly. Disney releases several promotions throughout the year for either discounted rooms, packages, or free dining plans. There are also military and Florida resident discounts. If you're planning your own trip, you'll need to check Disney's website pretty regularly in order to apply any applicable promotions to your reservation. If you're working with a travel agent, your travel agent will notify you when a new promotion is released and then apply it for you.
